1 - Introduction

 

This document describes the Chemical Hygiene Plan for:

of the University of Oklahoma, as required by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) Standard for Occupational Exposure to Hazardous Chemicals in Laboratories (29 CFR 1910.1450) adopted by the Oklahoma Department of Labor applicable to state employees, referred to as the Standard.

In order to comply with the Standard, this department/laboratory has established a Chemical Hygiene Plan to ensure that employees are protected from health hazards associated with Hazardous chemicals in the laboratory, and exposures are kept below the permissible exposure limits specified in 29 CFR part 1910, subpart Z. Questions regarding this Plan should be directed to:

This Plan is made readily available to the employees of this department/laboratory, and upon request to the Oklahoma Department of Labor.

A review and evaluation of the Chemical Hygiene Plan is conducted at least annually and is updated as necessary.
